School's Out!

Thursday, June 14, 2018 - Last Day of School for Claire in 4th grade and Bryce in Kindergarten.
Bryce "graduated" from Kindergarten!  He had a great year.
Claire had a great year in 4th grade, too.  She really liked her teacher, Mrs. Lindquist.
She had a lot of good friends in her class, too.
Bryce's teacher, Mrs. Duke, was really amazing!
Back in the neighborhood we went to the annual last day of school  whip cream fight.
It was fun for a little while.
Then we moved over to the pool for the rest of the afternoon!

One More Field Trip

Bryce had one last field trip to the Botanical Garden and the MK Nature Center.
At the garden they learned all about plants and garden stuff.  They learned about roly-polies and even got to hold one.  I think only one roly-poly got smashed which is rather amazing.
The Koi Pond.
Looking for bugs and frogs.
At the MK Nature Center.
We saw lots of rainbow trout.  We saw one of the sturgeon, too.

Bryce's S.O.A.R. Award

Bryce got the "Energy Bus" award at school last month (on Friday, April 13 - his lucky day!).
The "Energy Bus" recognizes a positive attitude.  He was SO excited and we were so proud of him!

Bryce is 6!

We were in Tekoa for Bryce's birthday this year.  It was a happy and a sad day because in the morning and afternoon we had Uncle Ronnie's memorial service.
We spent the night before Bryce's birthday at Uncle Don and Aunt Becky's house and they made sure his day started out right.  Aunt Becky gave him a special dinosaur that roars and lays candy eggs.  She read him a special birthday story "Of Course Polly Can Ride a Bike" while he ate dinosaur eggs.
We all had breakfast together and Bryce got to blow out candles on a muffin.
After the services all the family reassembled at Grandma Pat's house for Bryce's birthday party.
It was fun for Bryce to get to celebrate with all the cousins that usually can't be a part of his birthday.
Testing out the Rocket-Copters!

Yay Claire! And Bryce!

Claire received the "Energy Bus Award" at her school the other day.  I didn't get a good picture.  The award recognized here for "Positive Attitute and Contagious Positive Energy" - way to go Claire!  We are so proud of you!
Bryce finished up his first experience playing soccer with a team.  He had a lot of fun and did a lot of running around!  Now he's on a break until spring/outdoor soccer starts up in a few months!

Bryce Turns 5 on Friday the 13th!

Bryce was born on a Friday the 13th, too, so I always say it's his lucky day. He took cupcakes to preschool in the morning and then we went bowling that night.
Bryce wanted chocolate cake/cupcakes with chocolate frosting.  He helped decorate them with a few sprinkles.
Bryce got some fun presents.  He has been telling us about Air Hogs Thunder Trax since October.  It took a while to figure out what it was... finally we figured out it was a remote control vehicle.  He was a little disappointed he didn't get it for Christmas and I kept saying you don't always get everything you ask for and also reminding him that his birthday was coming up, too.  Grammy and Grampy came through and he was super excited... Air Hog Thunder Trax has been getting a lot of use!  He also had been telling us how he needs "a lot of instruments" ever since we went to the Head & the Heart concert.  Juan found a guitar that works with a video game that helps teach you how to play. He might not be quite ready for that but has been having fun nonetheless.
When I asked Bryce what he wanted to do for his birthday he immediately said he wanted to go bowling.  We invited the Harelson's and the Packer's to come with us and had a great time.
Big Al's said we could bring our own cupcakes to celebrate which was nice.
And they gave the birthday boy a giant ice cream sundae which we all shared it was so big.
