Then on November 13th the snow started to fall and didn't stop until late the next day! We got several inches, I think like 8 or 9 of them! And now it is really, really cold. When we woke up yesterday our phones told us it was -2 degrees! Obviously it didn't get above freezing that day! So here we are a few days later and we still have lots of white snow on the ground and the roads still have plenty of ice in many places. The kids have had fun playing in the snow!
Friday morning Daddy & Claire were out shoveling before the sun was even up all the way. I helped some, too.
Saturday Claire was invited to two birthday parties! One was at JumpTime and one at Flying Pie Pizzaria. She had a great time at both parties. Bryce even got to jump at the first one. Sorry, no pictures though.
On Sunday we didn't have to go anywhere so we stayed at home and in the afternoon ventured out to play in the snow. It took a lot of convincing to get Bryce to put on his snow boots (where are a couple sizes too big but we made them work, snow pants, jacket and mittens. Finally he realized everyone else was doing it and cooperated.
Cole pulled Bryce around the sled. Pat & Aileen - this sled has gotten a lot of use! We'll have to pass it on to Harrison for next winter because I think the Brycer will be too big.
Claire was more interested in sliding on the ice than playing in the snow. By this time it was pretty dry so we couldn't make a snowman or anything like that.
Auntie Chetan, Harkin, and Kai were in town for quick visit this weekend, too. The kids all had so much fun playing together. Kai didn't want to be in the group photo though.
Everyone wanted an icicle!
After all that playing out in the cold (maybe it was 20 degrees?) we convinced the kiddos to come inside and have some hot chocolate.
Claire and Harkin curled up on the couch later that night to watch a movie.
