Easter Came and Went

We had a fun Easter!  Pat & Aileen, Grammy & Grampy, and Peggy & Tara all came to Boise to celebrate Easter as well as Cole & Charlie's birthdays.  We all attended the Woodbridge Easter Egg Hunt, then dyed eggs back at our house, and after that went out for pizza to celebrate the birthdays.  We had a fun brunch on Easter Sunday, too.

New Year

On Saturday, December 30th the kids started the day by going to Danik's Open Gym
That night we went to Dawn's Surprise Birthday Party.  This was the only photo I got.
On New Year's Eve we had a party at our house.  We played games.
And did lots of visiting.
It was a fun night!
We had told Bryce he could open his birthday gift from Grammy and Grampy once it was officially 2018.  He worked hard to stay awake until midnight and immediately opened his gift.
After which he immediately fell asleep.
Happy New Year!

Halloween 2017

We carved pumpkins on Sunday afternoon.  It was a really nice day so we were able to do it outside which was fun.

Since Halloween was on a Tuesday and I volunteer in Bryce's class every Tuesday I was at the school for the Halloween party and parade this year (I've never gone before).  It's crazy... there were like 600 kids, almost all of them in costume, snaking through the school in this giant parade.
That's Claire in the shark costume parading through Bryce's classroom.

The school always does their "Red Ribbon Week" (an anti-drug thing) the week of Halloween.  So last week I decorated Bryce's teacher's door (left) on Tuesday and Claire's teacher's door (right) on Thursday (luckily the teachers had it all planned and just told me what they wanted).  They both turned out really cute!  (Claire's isn't quite finished in this picture.)

After the craziness of the school's Halloween festivities we rushed home to set up our own Halloween party for this year.  We'd put so much time and effort into making all those trunk or treat decorations that I decided to use them on Halloween at our house, too.  We set up Lynsey's tent, which made a nice spot to warm up (we put a heater in it!) and to hand out candy.  We also brought Chris & Rachel's TV over to the garage so that we could watch the World Series.

 Happy Halloween!

Trunk or Treat

We did a trunk again at the kids' school trunk or treat last week.  I couldn't have pulled it off without Lynsey's help!  (That's her red truck behind all that coral reef stuff.)  Thank you!!!

Our theme was "Under the Sea Beach Party".  I dressed as a jellyfish, Lynsey was a pineapple, Claire was a shark (she's not in any pictures because she was running around with friends), and Bryce was Superman (he adamantly told us he was not going to be anything from the ocean, he was going to be Superman).  They didn't give out awards this year but we had a lot of people tell us that ours was the best or their favorite so I'm pretty sure we took 1st place.  We had a bubble machine which was almost as popular as the candy.  It was kind of insane and I don't know how many kids came through... maybe like 500?  We were exhausted by the time it finally was over but it was fun!

4th of July in Cascade

We ate at the "Buckeroo Breakfast" and then waited for the parade.
Popcicles!
The kids got a lot of candy!
You get wet at this parade!
You might get hit with a snowball, too!
We spent the afternoon on Lake Cascade.  It was fun but the water was pretty nasty compared to Coeur d'Alene.  Still a good way to spend the 4th!

Easter Adventure

Easter morning the kids hunted for eggs (we missed the neighborhood hunt because both kids had soccer games).  Luckily the Easter bunny stopped by house.
After having some pancakes and bacon and eggs we set off on a drive to Shoshone Falls on the Snake River.  We took the Thousand Springs scenic byway and made a couple stops along the way.
There were lots of people visiting the falls because there is so much more water than normal coming over them.  It took a while to get in the park but we finally made it and found a place to park.  The kids rolled down a big hill.
It was really pretty!  There is so much water!
Looking downstream.
On the way home we stopped by Three Island Crossing State Park near Glenns Ferry (and did a little wine tasting at Crossings Winery).  Here's the high water on the Snake River there.
