Farewell!

The evening of the last day of school we also had a little driveway farewell s'mores & mimosas party for our neighbor Sharon.  Sharon and Steve already lived next door when we moved in back in 2002 so we've known each other a long time!  Sharon is moving to Nevada to live close to her son and grandchildren (Steve passed away last fall).  We are really going to miss her!
It was a beautiful evening!

Pretty day on the Palouse.

Possibly the worst wheel barrow race ever.  Also the most hilarious.
Trick Shot Competition!
Waiting for a pony (horse) ride.
 Claire riding Josie.
Bryce's turn.
Yee-Haw!
Back up at the house... visiting Sage & Doc in the pasture.
Bryce and Ryder hanging out.

WSU Homecoming... Finally!

We finally made it back to Pullman for a football game!  Homecoming.  And the Cougs WON!  We had a fun weekend!  We drove to Tekoa on Friday and had dinner at C&D's that night.  They even have Coug glasses there.
Saturday morning we all got decked out in our WSU gear (well, most of us).  We tried to get a picture of the kids looking cute in their crimson and gray... they didn't really cooperate.  I took Claire and Bryce out to Aunt Becky and Uncle Donnie's house.  I can't thank them enough for babysitting and even having the kids sleep over!  The kids had so much fun and have asked several times when they get to do it again.
Then the grown-up and that lucky kid Harrison drove to Pullman for some tailgating and the football game.  We had such a fun day... maybe too much fun!  It was fun to see how the stadium has changed.  So fancy now!

Go Cougs!

Long Overdue and Over Much Too Soon

When we got back to Tekoa on Thursday afternoon I got to have a very long overdue and much too short visit with my friend Ashley, but a little visit is definitely better than no visit!  We were best buds growing up and it was so fun to see our daughters together.  I'm certain if we didn't live thousands of miles apart these two would be quite the pair.  We hadn't seen each other in nearly 4 years... the last time Ashley was pregnant with her youngest, Amelia and who knew Bryce was even going to exist.  Ava and Claire had met before and have seen pictures of each other but they didn't really remember playing together.  They totally hit it off.

History was totally repeating itself as the girls played with the old Barbie house that Ashley and I used to spend, quite literally, hours, playing with at their age.  Then when it was time to go, they were totally trying to plan a sleep over.  Whispering in each others ear, making those big eyes at us.  We had to laugh because it was exactly what we used to do when we were kids.  Unfortunately, it just wasn't possible that night... Claire had the rehearsal that night and wedding the next day so we felt like sleep was of the essence.  Hopefully another time we'll be able to actually have the aforementioned sleep over.  Summer 2016?  What do you say?!!

Friends and Fun

It worked out really well that while we were staying with Molly and TJ their good friends who we've met before were camping nearby.  Claire had a great time playing with their two boys who are just a bit older than her.  They had a lot of fun swimming and playing with the paddle board.

They had fishing poles and so Claire got to do some fishing with them!
She even caught a fish!  And it was catch and release which made her very happy!

It was fun to get to see Mr. Ryder, too.  He's a cutie for sure!

This was our attempt at a family picture.  Bryce was throwing a fit at our feet.
